This is one of the best defence trade and air shows in our calendar with representation from all over the world. The trade days were well attended and the array of toys was amazing. From APC’s to UAV’s made in South Africa. I got soaked on Saturday morning three times but stuck it out and kept my place at the fenceline, the day improved and a lot of flying still took place, like clockwork. Dull/grey light for images (no blue skies to speak of) but still some great opportunities. I met up with some old friends and made new ones at the show. Well done to all concerned who work hard every year so that the general public can enjoy precision flying, stunts, static displays, war re-enactments, hijack scenarios, explosions, parachuting, fly pasts and more. From the pilots, crews, mechanics, SAAF, SANDF, commentators, private and state exhibitors and foreign countries that took part, thank you! Be sure to make it next year. I took the magnificent Gautrain from Midrand to Centurion and the bus to Waterkloof AFB and back: Less queues, less walking. Use their Android / BB app to check schedules. The Gautrain connects ORT International all the way to Hatfield and have ample secure parking for your wheels for R12-00! Pre-purchase your event tickets at Computicket to avoid queues at the venue.
