I’m very chuffed. These guys were tough to shoot. You can’t get closer than about 2 meters and they fly off.
Camera: Nikon D90 | Lens: Sigma 180mm f/3.5 EX APO Macro IF HSM for Nikon. Shot Settings: @180mm, ISO 200, 1/640s, f/8

The macro lens can focus right up to 46 cms (1:1) but this guy refused to let me get closer than about 2 meters. They are quite skittish and their heads are constantly twitching. Forget a tripod, it has to be hand held, and this lens weighs in at just under a kilo! (0.964 kg).

This was an amazing experience, to see him sitting in a bare tree, spot the snake, fly down and catch it and then return to another tree and consume it whole and still wriggling.
