My (f) Pied Kingfisher won a “best of week” at Pixoto but only a 51/49 win/loss ratio. I think it could have done much better if their resize algorithm wasn’t so harsh. So here is the original crisp image (which I uploaded to them) vs their resized image (of my original post upload). I’ll upload a re-edit to Pixoto in exactly 900px size with Smart Sharpen and see what happens…problem is then your screwed if you want to add the image for stock. At 1920px reduced to 900px their resize algorithm really messes with sharpness and clarity, so you lose on votes and then your image is not going to be seen for stock resale. A rethink is needed….or an improvement to their resize quality.
