DJ Run – 2011
by Harvey G (Photocommission.com) on Mar.19, 2011, under Events, Portfolio, Sport
Was invited to go shoot the DJ Run – 12/03/2011 by long time friend Richard Lewis and his partner Liz Addison. Richard has been taking part in the DJ since the early ’80′s. I’ve shot a few pictures of him in the past and thought I’d get a few new ones this year for his album. Attached some of my fave’s. Next year I’ll tag along shoot on the road, from the back of a pick-up.

Botswana Event – AUS AID
by Harvey G (Photocommission.com) on Feb.04, 2011, under Events, News, Portfolio
Just completed the first of this years AUS AID Australia Awards event shoots. (2nd and 3rd Feb). My first trip up to Gabs. Things work. Would you believe? Africa you say, your kidding right? From the arrival at the airport and less than 15 minutes from aircraft, through passport control and customs to arrivals hall. Taxi to the lodge (Phakalane Golf Estate) was fun and the driver Samuel helpful and friendly. Lodge; the same, superb. I loved it. The attendees, government representatives and hotel staff? The same. Awesome people, open and friendly with no hang-ups. Hope to see you all soon again, but this time in the bush and a road trip to see the real country. Thank you to my client(s).

Kenya 2010 – AUS AID – Images

A handful of shots taken at the shoot. I’m afraid there was little time to get a lot of typical street or even wildlife shots (never got a chance to visit a park), other than the “horizontals” on park benches
In all honesty I felt a bit spare hauling out $5k worth of camera gear in front of an audience that hadn’t had a square meal for days…
- Flying over southern Kenya looking East
- Jomo Kenyatta International Airport
- Central Park, Nairobi, Kenya

I’m nearing the end of my 3 week leg of the AUS AID African based Australian Development Scholarship Photo Shoot.
www.ausaid.gov.au
I am recording the event on behalf of GRM International Pty Ltd who run the program in Africa and Vision Integrated, their Media Partner. From Pretoria to Nairobi Kenya and, as I write this, Accra Ghana. I will do a short writeup and post a few pics on my return to SA.
Homeward bound tonight!

WBF Shoot – Silverstar Casino
by Harvey G (Photocommission.com) on Sep.11, 2010, under eShop, Events, Portfolio, Portrait, Print for Sale, Studio
Did a shoot at one of the World Bodybuilder Federation’s comps at Silverstar Casino, Mulderstrift. Thanks Richard (SnapAfrica) and Chaz (EVOX) for the opportunity! Thanks also to Vanessa (Silverstar) for your hospitality and Andre (SilverStar) for your teams eagle eyes!
I setup a mini-studio with backdrop, strobes, off camera flash, triggers and umbrella to shoot some of the contestants full length as well as a few stage shots from a distance. Here are a few shots of these sculpted athletes. Note: They are very bronzed thanks to the special gold cream they use all over their bodies. Not because of gold umbrellas!
